Early Saturday was pretty laid back. Had an appointment to discuss the condition of my lower body loose skin issues...the normal result of losing over 100 pounds in some people and unfortunately I'm one of them. Thankfully the problem isn't as bad with my upper body. I can choose to see this as a deal-breaker toward my goal, or I can take it as confirmation that my direction simply needs to change. After the appointment I was bummed out totally. I chose to have a cheat day. Yes, against my better judgement, but it was the way I chose to cope with the disappointment. I had a nice meal, went home, watched Lifetime, and took a nap. I awoke still consumed by my thoughts. Either I could lie there and sulk or I could hit the gym and make something happen. I chose the latter. I could see me in my mind lifting and lowering the weight, sweating for a good cause! The awesome thing is that about half way through my workout a gentleman approached me inquirin how long I'd been working out. He told me that he and his wife have been members at the gym for 2 years and he's watched me progress. Also said he told his wife that she needed to watch me to learn what to do. He'd been bodybuilding for some 10 years, but never placed in a show because of his legs. Well into his 40's he decided that he'd do whatever necessary to place. He worked harder, lived and breathed his goal. It paid off..in his mid 40's he won. His advice to me...never ever give up. Keep going! I believe it...God knows just what you need to hear and when you need to hear it...and he uses strangers to do it!
So much for that...here's how my workout went.
-Nice 10 mintute Warm Up
-Leg Press x 30 Reps, superset with Weighted Steps Ups. 8 Sets
-Pull Ups, superset with Skaters. 5 Sets (keeping the intensity up here)
-Upright Rows, superset with Side Lateral Raises. 3 Sets of 20
-Biceps (21's) , superset with Skull-Crushers. 5 Sets.
-Extra Triceps work on Triceps Dip Machine (25 pounds each side). 3 Sets of 20
-Ab Crunch Machine (50 Reps), superset with Inchers with a Pushup. 4 Sets.
Cardio Wrap Up: 30 min on EFX (strides ranging from 160 to 184). Short on time for cardio--had a date with my hubby, but will make up for that .

Who Says You Can't Do It At Home?
Friday is normally a gym date night with my hubby. We relaxed a little longer and didn't make it to the gym in enough time to get a great workout, but there are no excuses.
We're very blessed to have a nice little workout setup at home, so as needed I take advantage of that. Here's my home workout for Friday, July 16th.
Tri-Set - Repeat 10x:
-Wide Leg Squats on Smith Machine x 50 Reps (bar only--going as deep as possible).
-Lying Leg Curls x 20 Reps (20 pounds--we added a leg curl/leg extension attachment apparatus to our bench, it actually feels a lot heavier than the leg curl machine at the gym).
-Explosive Side Leg Raises x 20 each leg.
Finished it off with Cardio. 45 minutes on the treadmill 10% incline (highest my treadmill at home will go unfortunately).
A great workout right in the comfort of home. Doesn't get it any better than that!

Met my 10 pound weight loss goal for June. I'm certain that I would have surpassed it had it not been for a health issue that slowed me down for nearly a week. Also eased up a little on my diet partaking in weekend activities last week. Life is simply going to happen. You learn from your mistakes and keep it moving foward. Goal for July, 8 pounds. That's a realistic 2 pound per week weight loss.
